Erina Heights Public School Admin Block Upgrade

Snapshot:

•      Project – Erina Heights Public School Admin Block Upgrade

•      Timeline – Dec 2020 to Apr 2021

•      Budget – $590k

Erina Heights Public School Front Office Admin Block had become obsolete, it was old, run-down, harsh, unwelcoming and impractical with exposed brickwork surrounding pokey, small, closed-in rooms with limited functionality. UpBuild was engaged to extend and upgrade the existing building to improve functionality, inclusivity, accessibility, and practicality, to lift the space, modernise it, and make it more welcoming and aligned with the pride of the community. Upbuild delivered a refreshed Admin Block with architecturally designed spaces and well-considered flow, functional meeting spaces and calming aesthetics, featuring a warm and welcoming foyer, functional staff offices, multiple private meeting rooms, a calming sick bay, bathrooms throughout, a copy room, and a large open plan staff room with an adjoining modern open-plan kitchen, which together, doubles as a cohesive event space. Even with limited existing infrastructure, unexpected asbestos, and uneven levels and height considerations, UpBuild went above and beyond by reusing existing material, recommending innovative solutions and efficiencies where possible, and working over-time to ensure tasks were completed in line with tight timeframes. They were flexible and agile with scope changes and seamlessly collaborated with staff, becoming ‘one with the team.’ The revitalised Admin block has brightened the lives of students, parents, staff and community alike, becoming a place to connect, meet, work, and thrive, and creating a positive legacy for future generations to come.

I cannot recommend UpBuild more highly, for their exceptional work and professionalism. They went above and beyond in every aspect of this project, ensuring things were running smoothly and to schedule throughout. When we had the Minister visit, Dan and the team volunteered their time and stayed on site working with school staff and community until after 9pm to ensure that we were showcasing Erina Heights at its best. There was a real sense of community and working together as a team from day 1 of initial works starting, through to the final handover of the project. We were so impressed with Dan and the team that we have continued to work together on a number of other projects and ventures. Thanks to Dan and his team, we have a beautiful new administration building, a fantastic new playground and new undercover areas for students and we couldn’t be happier with the final results.
