Managing Director Michael Woodcock of Stella Engineering, was so impressed with UpBuild Constructions elements of "Design and Detailed Construction" in expanding Stellas staff facilities, that he approached UpBuild Constructions to again “Design, Project Manage and Construct" their new Mezzanine facility containing Mike’s new Office, new assembly line rooms and dedicated Comms room. The design was to ensure that it complemented the existing overall features of their Central Coast based engineering company, which produces precision components for the medical, electrical and the defence industries globally.

The floor to ceiling height commercial grade windows allowed for a maximum light filled assembly room and office, whilst still maintaining the same features and construction lines already built in the downstairs office area.

Mikes large open office space, allows for expansive views overlooking the Workshop floor below and Natural light flowing from the northern aspects of the factory boundaries. The pine ply ceiling displaying 10mm shadow lines, is again complemented by the hint of shadow lines in the joinery work drawers. Ducted air conditioning throughout, with coloured LED strip lighting to the external windows and joinery.

Mikes vision was exactly how the result unfolded. Sharp edges, clever use of lighting and maintaining the theme that the building has worked on from day one, being “Industrial and Sleek.”

The Vinyl Cliplok floor accounted for high foot traffic but remained in check with the appeal of the office. The timber ceiling again a vision of Mikes, was very impressed with its fruition.

The full height glass splash backs with the 5 x downlights above was an idea of Mikes. He was overwhelmed with the outcome, being exactly how he had imagined it. Mike and his wife Sam attended “Harvey Norman Commercial” for a one on one consultation to choose their preferred appliances.

White Polyurethane cabinetry with “Sharknose” Handleless doors.

Black stone benchtops and black sink and tap wares.

Due to the success of previous engagements, Upbuild Constructions were re-engaged by Stella Engineering for our latest Building expansion in January 2020.

The brief was an entire upstairs floor fit out, comprising of a large modern spacious managers office, two assembly/production spaces, a fully equipped modern kitchen, server and archives room and provision for a future luxury bathroom. All fully airconditioned and seamlessly integrated with the main workspace, which was to remain uninterrupted for the entire duration of the build.

Once again Dan Uptin and his team exceeded our expectations on all levels. The UpBuild team were involved from the initial vision of the project, through design and selection of all materials, joinery and appliances, to hand over of what is nothing short of an exceptional example of a high-quality modern and elegant workspace.

Dan has also upped the ante in terms of customer communication, by incorporation of an online customer collaboration portal. We found this a particularly useful tool to maintain clarity of how the project was tracking against our budget and timeline throughout the Building process.

UpBuild Constructions are a company that we at Stella Engineering are proud to have an ongoing relationship with and we look forward to inviting the team back for our next Build Project.
