MANNERING PARK PUBLIC SCHOOL
Department of Education NSW - Mannering Park Public School, engaged UpBuild Constructions to create an outdoor support classroom establishment, consisting of a 200m2 large safe and secure outdoor learning and garden area.
Being a Registered and Certified tenderer for etender NSW Government School Education Department, UpBuild Constructions undertook the renovation and new build to Mannering Park Public School.
UpBuild Constructions, undertook the works along side the AMU representative and School Principal to ensure that the operations of the school were not compromised during construction works.
The Principal, staff and students were extremely pleased with their newly created and very popular outdoor learning facility.
50 Lm retaining walls were created from sandstone block work, and the entire area was levelled with adequate drainage installed to satisfy the laying of the synthetic grass. Black powder coated aluminium fencing was used to secure the perimeter, with gates leading out to the garden area.
The outdoor learning area included water tanks that supported the newly created five colour bond steel garden beds, to be used for the planting and management of vegetables and plants.
The design and construction of two new wheelchair friendly concrete ramps leading from the three new doorways opening up from the classroom areas, which service the new breakout area.
Galvanised balustrades, handrails and safety rails lead from each of the three new entry/exit doors to the outdoors.
The initial demolition, excavation and levelling of the outdoor area with the inclusion of adequate drainage and artificial turf helps to make this outdoor learning area a place for staff and students to enjoy for many years.
